Our silage contractor Stephen O’Kane is undertaking a massive cycling challenge in the summer to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. In July he is cycling 1053 miles over 11 days across 5 cities – complete mentalist!!

The overall aim of the eighteen cyclists involved is to raise between £20K – £34K for the charity and each cyclist has pledged to try and raise £2K so to help Stephen horse to raise his share, he has organised a quiz night at the Errigle Inn on Friday 2 March . . . and you are all invited cause we are djing at this great event for a great cause!

What else? Disco 10.30pm – 1am (US – OCTOBOMBERS)

Savagley Pure – Friday Sept Thirty – twenty 11

Ofcourse ofcourse – we are back. Its been a while but we are been back in Ireland – yeah. We have been spending the summer cutting down trees in the black soil forests of armenia – lovely fresh air there.

So friday 30th september 2011 we return to the cloisters of Ballynahinch – a rectangular open space surrounded by covered walks or open galleries, with open arcades on the inner side, running along the walls of buildings and forming a quadrangle or garth which effectively separates the world of the monks from that of the serfs and workmen, whose lives and works went on outside and around the cloisters of Ballynahinch.

The serfs and workmen on offer are of fine quality – sourced all the way from the armenian forests. First up we have Colly Strings who specialise in clever rhythmic verses. Next up its Furlo who are an indie jerky five piece rock band. Also on the Bill are Watch Me Explode who never fail to disappoint by thankfully not exploding. The Electric Moccasins finish off a fantastic lineup – Gerry Anderson of BBC Radio Ulster says this about them:

“One of the most exciting bands in Northern Ireland. There are a lot of good bands, but these guys have that ‘thing’, dare I say it, ‘The X-Factor?’…they make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck”

Now if a fine spruce of a man like Gerry says that about a band you know the have that ‘thing’.

And ofcourse ofcourse throughout the nite us truly will be banging out some tunes that don’t fit in with any of the music any of the bands play cause we rule the graveyard.

Bollocks Out this Thursday in McHugh’s

Here at Octobomb HQ we say bollocks to pretty much everything but the one thing that we say bollocks to the most is poverty. So when we were asked to do a gig for Bollocks to Poverty it seemed rude to turn such a gig down.

So this Thursday 30th June come down to McHugh’s in Belfast from 8pm – its 3 noop in and all proceeds go to ActionAid.

Bands on the nite include The 1930s, A Northern Light and The Alice Kona Band + yours truly – OCTOBOMB Flat Out – before, during and after all the bands have done their thing.

So get your holes down there and say BOLLOCKS TO POVERTY.

Hibernation is finally over for the winter and our Dry Roasted Pea Nut and Super Bock stocks have all but disappeared so its time to get back out and play some of our old TDK D-90s aswell as some of our more newer Maxell MD 74s and what better place to do so at our old favorite – Cloisters Ballynahinch.

This promises to be bigger than the Royal Wedding as its Pure Savages 1st Birthday Party and with the headliners Pocket Billards the Ska Punk will be flying all over the place. But the band we a looking forward to most is them oul hands from the moon – Jumping Orbit – a bunch of rockets we ever did see.

Watch Me Explode (we really really hope they dont) and Phoenix Fire (If Watch Me Explode dont Explode and Phoenix Fire catch Fire we are fooked) are also on the bill.

So get your arse down to Cloisters next Friday 6th May 2000 & 11 for some cheap moonshine and some filthy punk ska and step dub.

Roccer 2010 Champions

We bring you fantastic news. Octobomb are Roccer Champions 2010 (trophy below).

We are just in the door from our fantastic victory on the 4th June. We have been up partying non-stop for over a month – no sleep – as all members of team octobomb were too afraid to be the first one to go home even though after the 2nd week the party turned a bit grim as we had resorted to drinking 2-stroke out of the strimmer in the garden shed but we all battled on.

The conversation dried up after the 3rd week and at 8.46 this morning, AK-47, who was roccer player of the tournament (trophy below) called it a month and went home to bed. All other members of team octobomb shortly after went their separate ways to hibernate for the summer.
